4. Mac And Dennis Buy A Timeshare
Mac and Dennis go to visit Frank in the coil. They try to sell him one week of their timeshare, and like Dee and Charlie, he informs them that they got ripped off, and the salesman definitely meant to sell them as many weeks as he could. He offers them a "premium lead" on who might buy their timeshare: Ben the Soldier. Like Dee and Charlie, they leave him in the coil so he will feel like he has to keep helping them.

Mac and Dennis' plan is to try to trigger Ben's PTSD to get him to buy, and they invite him over to their apartment. Da'Maniac shows up uninvited. Their attempts to trigger his PTSD with loud noises and yelling instead set off Da'Maniac, who smashes a lamp. Ben declines their offer -- but Da'Maniac accepts it, and apparently thinks that Mac and Dennis' apartment is the timeshare. Dennis tells Mac that they should get in on Dee's Invigaron business, and get Da'Maniac to be their salesman.
Mac and Dennis and Dee and Charlie all realize that Frank told them the same thing about Ben, and so they decide he's up to something, and is behind the whole thing. They go to an Invigaron meeting, to confront Harris Marder about how Frank is behind all this. Marder tells Dee that she can get out of Invigaron at any time; just pay a $200 penalty and her "downline" will shift over to him. Mac and Dennis ask to be similarly let out of their timeshare contract, but Marder tells them those contracts are "ironclad" -- and he then "accidentally" points to an opt-out clause in the contract, where they can get out of it for a mere $2,000. Dennis and Mac again tell him that he "got got". They tell Marder they know Frank is behind all of it, but Marder says he has no idea who Frank is. Da'Maniac shows up, and Marder informs him that he's his best Invigaron salesman. Dee realizes that since she brought him in, she gets a cut of his sales, and so she's rich now. Marder reminds her she just opted out, and so the money goes to him now. The Gang is sure Frank is somewhere in Florida, raking in all the cash from his scheme.
Dee has signed Charlie on for the gold member starter kit, which he thinks is for him, but she wants him to sell it. She tries to understand the instructions, but gets confused, while Charlie is worried about his stress. They think Frank could help but he's out at a playground, so they go to find him. At the park Frank's in his underwear and is stuck in a coil. Before they help him out they want to ask questions about Invigaron, which Frank says is a pyramid scheme. He advises them to get a couple suckers to buy the product -- which Charlie and Dee think is a great idea -- but they won't free him in the hopes of getting more advice. Dennis and Mac show up for a Invigaron presentation looking to ignore the presenter, but he hooks them on a timeshare. They plot to buy three weeks into a timeshare, looking to sell the additional two weeks at a profit.
Back at the bar, Ben the soldier and Da' Maniac (Roddy Piper) are the only people who showed up for Dee and Charlie's video presentation. The video is a bit crappy and in it Frank and Charlie reveal it's a pyramid scheme, while the stress test results on Ben are 107 so there's no sales (though Da' Maniac takes a bunch and walks out). Dennis and Mac visit Frank to get him to sign up for their timeshare, but Frank says no, and sends them to Ben. They too won't set Frank free.
Dennis and Mac invite Ben over to sell him on a timeshare and Da' Maniac shows up as well. They planned to upset Ben's PTSD, but any attempt at loud noises upsets Da' Maniac. Ben says he's not up to making business decisions because of his stress level, while Da' Maniac says he's up for it and will pay in Invigaron products. Dennis and Frank then plan to jump into the Invigaron game. Dee and Charlie break into Ben's place to sell him Invigaron wearing night vision goggles, but it turns out that Dennis and Mac are already there in turbans. It turns out that Ben was a computer programmer during the war and doesn't suffer PTSD. The gang then think that Frank is at the top of the pyramid scheme, and break in on a Invigaron presentation. The presenter gets them to pay "opt out fees" to quit. It turns out the best new salesman isn't Frank, it's Da' Maniac. But they still think Frank is behind it. Alas, he's still stuck in the coil.
Mac and Dennis also go to Frank, looking for someone to buy their timeshare from them. Frank tells them to go back to Ben, and they leave Frank in the coil. This pattern of looking for advice from Frank and leaving him in the coil continues for most of the episode until finally the Gang is fed up with trying to cash in on these schemes and heads back to the salesman to get out of them. He obliges for a mere few hundred dollar cancellation fee from Dee and $2,000 from Dennis. What a sucker.

A few years later, Piper appeared on the show once again in the Season 9 episode titled "Mac and Dennis Buy a Timeshare." This time, Piper's Maniac gets roped into the gang's energy drink/timeshare pyramid scheme, though he eventually works his way into staying at Dennis and Mac's apartment. It's yet another stellar performance from Piper that cemented him as one of the long-running series' most eccentric side characters.
Later on, he was a suspect when they were trying to figure out who had gotten Dee pregnant, was a target when they were trying to sell both Invigaron and a piece of a timeshare and, most recently, a member of the crew that went to the Super Bowl. 041b061a72
